Early life and education Dalai was born in Odisha and was immersed in local cultural and devotional practices. She undertook formal training in the required disciplines of Odia literature, puranic scriptures, and classical music necessary to command a Pala stage.

Career Dalai performs widely across Odisha, leading her own troupe of a Bayaka and Palias. She is particularly known for her engaging “Pala Comedy” and her command over Ladies Badi Pala (competitive debate). Her storytelling heavily revolves around regional lore and religious epics.
