Sujata Mohapatra
Srimati Sujata Mohapatra is a world-renowned Odissi soloist and one of the foremost senior disciples of the legendary Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. Born in 1968 in Balasore, her life and art are deeply rooted in devotion to Lord Jagannatha. In 1997, her connection to her Guru deepened when she married his son, Ratikant Mohapatra. Today, alongside her husband and their daughter Preetisha, she serves as a vital torchbearer for her Guru’s legacy. Affectionately known as “Sujata Appa” to her students, she is celebrated globally for her flawless technical precision and profound devotional grace, dedicating her life to performing, teaching, and preserving the pure tradition of Odissi dance.
